Short Novels by DavidBDale

What I'm about to write has nothing to do with internet marketing BUT everything to do with life.

This is a totally unashamed plug for the work of a guy I came across at MyBlogLog.

David B Dale - don't miss out on reading his work - your life will be missing something if you do.

David writes very short stories - 299 words maximum - I defy you to read and not be touched reading his short novels.

(David just took me to task :) - his novels are always EXACTLY 299 words - how fantastic is that? Could you keep your blog posts to an exact number of words?)

Thank you David

Attitude and Success

A beautiful Spring morning on Southern England, clear blue sky, birds singing, daffodils in full bloom... I looked at the window of my office enjoying the moment.

And in he walks...

Head down, dark clouds circling, he starts to talk & my morning is ruined. "Heavy traffic, no money, too bright, late night, bad back, kids shouting..." I'd checked out. Mr Neg-Head had arrived.

This incident put me in mind of the Crowded House song with the line "always take the weather with you" Mr Neg-Head did that alright! But he took the wrong kind of weather.

His attitude had changed the mood of the office.

I couldn't wait to get him out and after he'd left I felt less enthusiastic about the day than before. I thought about a comment Robert Monteux made on his blog about my quote "Nothing Changes Without a Change". Mr Neg-Head will continue through his life with his negative attitude poisoning everyone he meets unless he decides to make a change - possible but very unlikely since he's happy in his own sad little way!

{Have you ever thought about the phrase "it's a horrible day" or something similar used by people referring to the weather? Sorry, they're wrong there's nothing wrong with the day - the weather just isn't bright and sunny. Be careful about the use of words - it can affect your whole well being. Catch yourself thinking and saying negative things and STOP.}

Now back to my mood, reduced from great to "irritated" as a consequence of my meeting. This was different to my visitors state.

I knew I could change it in an instant. Look up & take a deep breath, think positively about something good. There mood changed. BUT I had to make a change myself first. (By the way, look up and smile and try to keep hold of a bad mood - impossible!). I chose to make a change rather than let someone else influence me.

Whatever you are doing right now, whether things are going well for you or not YOU have the power to change everything - but first you need to make a change because "Nothing Changes Without a Change".

Squidoo Free Resources Lens, HypnoCoaching

My thanks to Robert at HypnoCoachingBlog for being the first to add a Free Resource at my Squidoo Lens.

One of the benefits of being the first (and who knows maybe other contributors in the future) is that you get a mention on this blog (exposure and links) plus because RSS feeds of this post go to various other Squidoo Lenses - more exposure and links.

Pretty cool.

Thanks again Robert - great resource you posted by the way...

Squidoo - Internet Best Free Resources

There's no catch - simply the best growing list of free resources on the net.

I'm creating a new Squidoo Lens linking all of the best free resources on the Internet:

But I could do with your help...

If you use a free software program, know of a great free resource that can help an Internet Marketer, PC user, or anyone online OR you simply want to find THE BEST free stuff on the net take a look at the Free Resources Lens

You're welcome to add a link to your own lens / blog / site after you've contributed a free resource.

There's one condition - the Free Resources section is to be just that - no affiliate links - no free product leading to a One Time Offer. Your link goes in the Contributors Section.

Don't forget to vote for your favourite resources and your own link and get them moving up the list.

Go on - don't be shy - get over to Squidoo.com/freeinternetresources

Thanks, Wizzer

Mike Filsaimes Resource Report

I've just downloaded and read Mike Filsaime's latest free report:

The Resource Report

My thoughts on this are conflicting...

First off it is a great resource, I entirely endorse Mike's first item RoboForm - I couldn't live without it. For anyone not using it download the free version (I don't have any affiliate link to this - not sure if there is one) and give it a try - you'll never lose another password or user name.

Back to the report - it's full of very useful resources and as Mike proclaims they are all required to run a successful online marketing business.

Now my contrary and cynical view. The report is packed with affiliate links and sales messages for Mike's other products like Power Link Generator. Great product and for the affiliate marketer a must have but here's the issue...

Mike is promoting the Resources Report via his existing customers, affiliate partners etc who may well be trying to sell many of the resources listed in his Report themselves. Good move by Mike - not so good for everyone else.

Having said that the compensation for someone promoting the book is a share of the "winnings" should a reader of the Report take up the inevitable One Time Offer (OTO).

In summary, I take my hat off to Mike - he really knows how to sell.

Squidoo Bug

I promised myself I'd keep my head down and just focus on what I know needs to be done. But, it kept nagging away at me.

I watched the video, read the sales letter and then as promised to myself I didn't buy anything. But, it kept nagging away at me.

So when I had a little free time I thought I'd give it a try for myself to see how easy it is.

Yes, I'm talking about creating a Squidoo Lens

Wow, it's cool. So easy, the results look good and the lens has attracted some traffic within days with no effort on my part.

My first lens is about Costa Esuri (a place in Spain where I own a golf property) - it's not a lens designed to generate an income - purely an interest of mine so you're in no danger of having a look - Costa Esuri Lens. That said, Squidoo has various "income" generating features on the lens (Adsens for example) and shares any revenue with the lensmaster - you can choose to give your share to charity if you wish.

The thing I really like about Squidoo is that you can add feeds from your blogs, YouTube, create lists, a Guestbook, favourite products, sites... and it is all so very easy and quick.

I've found myself with the Squidoo Bug but fortunately it looks like a good business move as it's generating some good traffic for me.

Take a look at my Costa Esuri lens to get a feel for what you can do - this took me only about 1 hour at the most although I did have most of the material and links already.

I'd love to hear what you think - leave a message (blurb) in the guestbook. But be careful...

You may get the squidoo bug!
